Why is everyone making such a big deal about the President's choice for the Supreme Court because Judge Sotomayor is a Hispanic woman? Aren't there many other minorities with similar pasts? Why do some (read:white) people think that she is something of a novelty? I know many sucessful minorities like her in many different field of endeavor. I'm not saying so what as much as I'm saying wake up America and take off the blinders!!!

I recently spent the weekend with some friends. The house was full of doctors (surgeons), dentists, scientists, physical scientists, engineers, etc. It was like a big Cosby Family reunion.

Why is it still, in 2009, hard for some(same read as above) to get the notion of dumb negroes out of their head?
